Hi folks,

Can anyone tell me the difference between the x20 and the x20 tour range, my local pro has both sets for £299.

I have tried google but no avail, I would go in and ask however I did that with drivers on Saturday and came away with a sparkling new Ping G10!

I thank you in advance. :)

Pick them and compare them, the face will be smaller on the tour model and have a smaller cavity back on them to increase playability. Have you had a go with them?

G10 is a good club, good luck with it.

I had this discussion with Homer last night. I've been trying a few set of "old" Callaway irons with the hope of finding a set suitable for my game.
In essence, there would seem to be 3 main differences.
1) Offset (face angle) is greater on the non-tour
2) size of head....tour is a bit smaller....
3) top line/size of the cavity etc.....

I would presume that the lofts are also different.

If you search for classic club specs on the Global Callaway site, you could look at (compare) X-18s and probably X-20s, although I don't know if these specs are in the classic section yet. I use this web site a great deal to compare the specs with stuff I have used with stuff I might consider buying.

The x20s have massive heads and the x20 tours have what i would call a perfect playable game improvement club, also the shafts will be differnt the tours come with project x flighted as standard and i think the standard ones will have callaways uniflex shafts, hit both but the x20tours will last you longer as you improve

In simple terms the tour version has a smaller face, thiner top line (although to be fair only marginally) less cavity and less offset. It's a similar story in the TM camp with the Burner and Tour Burner. There is also a difference in swingweight in that the tour are heavier (to compensate for the supposed swing speed of a better player)

I jave to say I've looked at the new X22 and think they are an improvement over the standard X20 in that they don't seem quite as bulky but will still give you game improvement performance. I've not seen the X22 tour model yet so can't comment

Thanks for the replies guys,

I am looking to pick up my first set of irons soon so I think I might pop in and have a word with the pro.

Fingers crossed for pay day before Christmas as I may need to move fast on them.
