now i dont know anything about what kind of player these are aimed at but they seem a bargain to me.so anyone know if they would suit a relative begginer like me??

Cos,
Madandras right, try Ebay or Golfbidder, the range is ripping you off for 6 clubs.
To answer your question Cally x-18's are good clubs -very easy to hit so will build confidence so fine for you as a beginner. Hard wearing too.
Not sure about graphite shafts, steel is fine if you swing it reasonably quick, graphites lose their flex quicker than steel and are not quite as consistent in distances hit, though some on here may disagree with that.

madandra was you up early or went to bed late??
posting at 04:01.
dont know what happened to 3,4,5 clubs tho.
i play a rescue instead of 3 and 4 anyway and never use the 5 ive got because i always duff it.cant work out if its crap clubs or my crap swing-probably the latter.
went through a spell on a few games though when i was hitting it really well and hitting 200 yds roughly but then it went back to duffing.6 and up im fine.weird?
think i,l skip the clubs though so thanks both for advice.

Good clubs without a doubt.

I would really question graphite shafts though as when I was a beginner I had graphites that I bought. After 4 lessons the pro said my swing speed was too fast and that steels were the only way to go. Ended up costing me £££'s so I would say consult your pro first.

I now use King Cobra FP's and they are the best irons I have ever hit.

When it comes to fitting I am very fly. My job means I am suited and booted day in day out so when I am on the hunt for a new club or clubs I walk in very confident and approach a member of staff. Tell them you have got £££'s to spend since it was your birthday or you got bonus and your looking for fitting. They will bend over backwards to get their hands on your cash. Once fitted remember the spec: stiff, regular act... Then look on adtrader.co.uk or ebay.

.... and then you wonder why your local golf shop has gone bust or your pro is forced to do an evening job as a taxi driver to makes ends meet.

Madandra, you've said some great things over the months on this forum, but this is not one of them. It appears you have a slight character flaw?

I am sorry if you feel my integrity is called into question. I was just advising a young golfer how to maximise his £££'s. I have and do buy from the Pro's shop and over the years have spent handsomely there but there are some things I would never touch and one of them is used irons. Here is my reason (not excuse)why:

I was looking to trade in a set of 2 year old Taylormade TP combo's 3-pw and was offered £140 which was 1/3rd of what I paid. I understand the man has to make money and is providing a service BUT I then found out from a fellow member the pro had offered them to him for £300 before I had traded them in.

In my eyes, that is not good practice. If the other guy had been told £200 I would have told him to go for it. As a salesman myself I am all for entrepreneurship but some club pro's are chewing off the hand that feeds them.
