Took the new Callaway Razr Fit 10.5 stiff driver out for a 2 day test drive on Friday and Saturday, I couldn't believe how good it is. I had recently traded up a Nike SQ Dymo 10.5 reg shaft for a Callaway FT-Zi 9.5 stiff to allow for my quicker than average swing and to try and develop a more penetrating flight trajectory as the Nike was ballooning off the tee. I am also combatting a natural fade as my body is far quicker than my hands - amongst other issues. I had tried all the other adjustable drivers but just didnt like the look or feel.

The new razr fit looks great behind the ball, sleek and solid with a really balanced feel on the back and down swing. I had mine set to a draw to try and combat the fade, which has cost me dearly in the run in to the end of the winter league with missed fairways. The feedback at impact is the best that I have come across, I new exactly where on the face I had struck the ball, and (even if slightly off the heel or toe) the ball stayed on the fairway and had the shape & trajectory I was looking for. After the first 3 or 4 holes the club returned my confidence that I can set up and swing at my normal speed (which I had been restricting - causing more problems by trying to coax a tee shot).

I now have the belief back in myself off of the tee and now have a club that will adjust with me as my swing improves, and come back to a more neutral action. It isn't cheap at £299 but I think I got exactly what I paid for - I am now taking on the shot over the village pond. Well done Callaway and thanks to the RGC Pro (Richard Wood) for letting me loose with it! All the other drivers will have to adjust....:D
