it certainly does matter in my opinion. all golf balls behave differently - you need to find one you like and that suits your game and stick to it. Its about consistency and know your yardages and how the ball will react therefore you need the consistency of the same ball
I struggle wit Pro V1s for example as they make my bad shots terrible and generally result in a lost ball whereas the chrome supersoft I use keeps my bad shots in play. Others with more skill will be able to use to Pro V1 as its intended and will feel the benefit.
