Callaway Apex

Just been at my local range with the kids and they had a demo Apex 7 iron with KBS Tour V 90 in it. Wow, it goes like a rocket, a good club past my own. High but not ballooning flight and feels pretty good. Looks a bit clunkier than I prefer, but goes great.

Anyone have these? What are the short irons like?

They have very strong lofts, ive hit them but would have to redo my whole bag for gapping. Like you I find them a little chunky on the top but could use them 100%

Google tells me that the 6 iron is 27 degrees. 7 iron 31 degrees, still 3 degrees stronger than my Mizuno, though.

Apologies, eyes must be getting old, mixed up the lines from the review I checked against. 31 is correct for the 7, it's the 6 that is 27.

Fantastic iron. Nicest I've ever hit. I didn't buy a set because they just went too far. I'd need 5 wedges in my bag :-D

The Apex Pro's look VERY nice, and the 7 iron is 34 degrees so more normal lofts.

guy i play with has just replaced his AP2 for a set this weekend.

had to keep the PW of his old set as he now a big gap between the Callaway PW and his 54 deg SW and has just gone for 5-pw.

nice looking clubs though too chunky for me
