So, the draw of AG for a new stock of balls gave me the idea of taking in my Callaway heavenwood rescue and seeing if I could do any better.

I wandered around and found an Adams rescue which looked good, and took it over to the net.

Not bad, big and quite square.......results NOT as good as my existing.
The pro (and he was a pro) asked me which makes I liked and I replied "all the normal, but I'm really keen on my Wilson Spine driver, so maybe I should try a fybrid".
I'd looked up fybrid review on the 'net before and seen Jezz and Luke saying they liked the club(s).

Anyhow. He was keen to see me hit half a dozen with my heavenwood and then the same with the fybrid.
Result? The Callaway was going well but pretty much all of them tailed off to the right at the end...(I knew as much) but the Wilson was quite a bit better with some of them "turning over". ALL would have been on a fairway, but not many on a green with the Callaway.

The fybrid was a little longer (good, to fit between 4 irons and 5 wood) plus the flight was certainly less ballooned.

The clincher? Having seen that I could shape the shot, I ended up hitting deliberate fade/slices followed by draws/hooks......everyone of them was spot on. He was quite impressed (I think :))

So, here it is

Fair play to AG for their time and patience.
Fair play to W/S for making another club that seems to suit me down to the ground.

PS.....they didn't have any Srixon tri-speed, but he recommended Callaway Diablo balls for my swing. He even let me putt a few before saying yes or no.

All in all, top service and a top result.
I'll post a review if there's anything to add about this club after the weekend.

Anyone want a heavenwood :)?

Good stuff, I really rate Wilson Staff Golf gear. However, they make such lies about their advanced irons when all they have done is jack the lofts as much as possible it made me move away from their irons.

At last an AG giving proper customer service. Good news that you got what you wanted and not what they wanted to flog you and that you have a club you have confidence in to hit well and shape. Go burn it up tomorrow

I know....it's a real shame. They are the worst offender with this great loft rip-off. They really DO need to reverse the process if they stand any chance of being taken seriously??

Cheers Homer. It was a relaxed shopping experience.

I expected some shenanigans t.b.h. The poor guys had spent 1/2 an hour with some "all the gear" chap, who had a decent swing but could hardly hit the ball at all. He thought he was talented (arrogant and delusional, more like).

How can you fit someone who is unable to even get anything to go on on the launch monitor? I'm a musician (as you know) and can "hear" pretty well; not one ball middled. Disaster area!!!

I tried the club tonight at the range. Good results, lots of nice shots. I expect it to see some action over the weekend.
Tomorrow's course is open and not overly bunkered.....watch this space.

Will be interested to hear how you get on Dave.

Been looking at these for a while. Went up to my local AG last night with a view buying the 3W, 19.5, the 21. Only had the 19.5 in stock however with the regular shaft. Gave it a go and it went pretty well. Better trajectory off the deck than my Adams 17.

Hopefully AG will have more stock next week so I can try the 3 as a set.

You talkin' 'bout me???

;)

So far, so good. Used it 5 times today. Two beautiful tee shots, 2 off the fairway. All good until last tee shot of the day, managed a "super-wood-shank".....the one that would have been off the hozel if it had been an iron.

Good distance.....almost 200. Nice feel.

Very similar to the MD Equaliser I used for a while, except the USTproforce V2 suits me better in this than the prolaunch blue.

Certainly a different type of club to the Callaway or Cobra versions.

PS. (zzzzzzzzzz)

I tried it on the practice ground today. Hit a dozen yellow balls (once I'd got a good feel) and paced it out from the 185 flag.
Best 202 (w.t.h. :D)
Worst....about 175-ish
Average.....approx 190......not bad, further than my old heavenwood.
Should fit well between 4i and 5w
