So would the lie and loft still be out even if the length was altered? I just assumed the loft is the loft, and the lie depends on the angle the club is held at which would change depending on the length?

Just found out they're MX-100s. Are they worth having bearing in mind the outlay to get them adjusted to fit me?

Give them a shot. They are £184 on golfbidder and look nice.
You can get grips from £1.79 on Gamola. £2.79 gets you a good multi compound (Sharpro).
If you shorten, not sure about altering lie - you might not need it, depends on swing etc.
