Bunkerless golf courses...

My local public course, Barshaw, has no bunkers. Apparently they were filled in during the 2nd world war to make if more difficult for the enemy to pinpoint where they were! Council never got round replacing them.
Interesting "Royal" Barshaw fact! Had always wondered about the bunkers as the outline of them is visible on a good number of the holes.

Hehe , there is me thinking they use the sand to make sandbags for bunkers holding anti aircraft guns ....................EYG
