Having an amble on Cromer pier this afternoon. All of a sudden someone calls out my name. Looks straight ahead and its “ Tink”. One of me old muckers from the pit. Not seen him Since 1992. We were in the old first aid team at the pit. I first met him When i was 7. He shook me hand. I gave him
A Snog. Lovely to see him. We had five mins and he went on his way. He sings in some Sheringham shanty group. Over the moon to see him.
Any other odd old meets.

An old mucker from Agri coll plonked himself down by me on a plane out of Geneva when coming back from a skiing trip in 04 , had not seen him for over 20 years , had a right old natter about farming stuff (y)

Lad I went through basic training with many moons ago from Aberdeen, never crossed paths after we passed out as we got posted seperately. Hadn't seen him since I was 22, bumped into him last year walking along Brighton Pier had a chinwag and a pint then went our seperate ways.

Had similar happen when living in Japan. On three separate occasions, bumped into an old friend from Kobe and two old work colleagues from London. The first whilst travelling on a Tokyo Subway train, one whilst standing on a very crowded subway platform at midnight, and the other just walking along a street in downtown Tokyo.

Bumped into our former Royal Ascot stewardess at Sunningdale in the restaurant on the Wednesday. Last I heard she moved to work and live at the RAC club and had no idea she'd been at Sunningdale for the last five years.

A few years ago the wife & I were having a country walk in Hexham. Walking down a forest path I mentioned that her Osteopath came from Hexham. There was a person on the path coming towards us. When he got nearer we realised it was him.

Was walking around Babbacombe model village to hear someone call out "is that you Mega?" ... Then a a couple of years later walking down, Regent St. Gt. Yarmouth, I heard the same voice call out "not you again!" ... Both ocassions it was someone I'd worked with for a number of years but had gone separate ways about a decade previously...

Just had a txt from me owd pal. I mentioned to him about a pension Notts miners are in. We never paid into it. NCB/ British coal did. He didnt know about it. He has rang them and he is entitled to it. Nice 20K ish surprise for him.

I'd say he owes you a pint, then!

I was travelling down the escalator at Waterloo when I spotted my best man travelling up on the opposite side. I had not seen him for nearly 20 years.

We met up again about 10 years ago but he reckoned it was not him.

Sadly these days it is most likely to be an old mates funeral which gets my mates from teenage years back together for a meet.
