Hi all

I'm looking at possibly buying some new wedges in the near future. It's been about 3 months without a golf related purchase so naturally the wallet is getting itchy. The wedges I have at the moment are just the ones that are specifically part of the Di7 set. The PW loft is 43° so I'm not necessarily looking at taking that out of the bag I'm more looking at replacing the GW, SW and LW which are 49°, 55°and 60° respectively.

My initial thinking at the moment is that I'm probably going to get 3 wedges but might end up going for 2 and sticking another hybrid in the bag instead. Can any of you suggest perhaps a suitable wedge set up that I might be looking at so that I have a starting point for looking/testing wedges. I was thinking I might go for something along the line of a 50°, 54° and 58° set up but any suggestions are obviously welcome.

Also from my brief time looking in a couple of the shops up here today the wedges that were for sale were of the more expensive variety. My realistic budget is going to be somewhere between £120 and £150 for the 3 wedges which I realise rules out a lot of options. Can anyone suggest any cheaper options either brands or specific wedges that would be within my price range so that I have something to start from rather than filtering by price.

Clubhouse golf direct have some Nike wedges at a good price just now.

Have you considered your bounce options? Just as important as gaps IMHO

You need to know how far you hit your PW
At 43* it's a pretty strong loft.
You may need a 48* in there as going straight to 50 might leave a big gap.
It's not so important to space the lofts, it's more important to space the gaps.
So if your pw goes, say, 125, then your next wedge needs to go about 110ish so find one that goes this far. It may be a 50 it may be a 48 but it's important to get the gaps right.
After that you'll need one for about 100 and then one for about 85 - that's all assuming you go 125 with your PW...

Then you have to think about bounce. PLenty on here or elsewhere online to guide you on that front.

Remember it's distance/gaps that are important not necessarily what's stamped on the sole.

Go on direct golf and order the 3 set of Adams wedges for 99quid.

They're superb quality and a real classic look, I have 2 of last seasons model in my bag and found nothing that matches them for feel.

You can buy the gap wedge for your Di7s its 49 Deg Ive got one and its ok not sure if you can get a 60 Deg though'
Got my gap wedge off ebay.

Iv recently went from vokey s to the Cleveland cg16 as there great and very forgiving plus their is a pro shop on eBay that sells them for £49 with free delivery, I used him and the club was genuine and brand new
