Brucie Steps Down

Sorry, what?

As in what has he done that others couldn't?

Stand up for 5 mins, not be able to read an Auto Que.sure he's getting on, but he has had a long and profitable career with no talent what so ever.

Brucie, enjoy your retirement, and don't rush back..please

Think he was the brains behind Strictly Come Dancing ( his idea ) - so I guess he has a talent for spotting an idea to make one of the most popular shows on telly

I really can't see what he has done that is so harmful

He is a popular entertainer - I could understand if he was involved in the recent scandals but no

Not sure about the 'brains' more luck than judgement I think.

It was a one off Sport Relief event which amazingly caught the public's attention.

Yes because it wouldn't be right to apportion credit onto someone we obviously don't like.

He just got lucky, simple as that.

If it had not been for that show do you think we would still be suffering him on our screens. No.

I didn't suffer with him being on the screen.

He did well to get lucky for decades

You don't like him so won't give him any credit - that doesn't take away the fact he was behind and also fronted one of the most popular shows on telly - that deserves credit

Well done Brucie and enjoy your retirement - you earned it

Never knew this side or brucie, one I want gone for good is little runny Corbett , he is one arrogant toss pot who I wouldn't piss on if he was on fire, and I have my reasons!

One who looks down on anyone he is with which given he's stature is laughable!

generation game, play your cards right.... great Saturday night tv back in the day.

Never really liked strictly so can't comment. A long career that entertained millions... a well earned rest imho.

and the good news is, he's not retiring, just slowing down, he'll be back for specials :whoo:

good for you Brucie, you are an inspiration to the younger people that give up when they reach a 'certain' age

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. He successfully has hosted many programmes, he has been employed for many years, he has earned a lot of money, lots of people like to see him.

Finally Bruce Forsyth has taken the hint and announced he's stepping down from Strictly. Good riddance to a bumbling fool that made watching the programme highly irritating. If only he'd announce a full retirement from our screens next

I agree.

Did I come back to the GM forum for this? :D

Since I have no choice and must pay my licence fee I think the BBC should always aim to bring on new talent.

Too may of the old guard are kept on and paid outrageous fees and n competition when good other people would do the job for less - so no presenter or performer should be allowed to have contracts for more than 3 years at a time and after 10 years they shouldn't be allowed to renew another contract for 5 years.

Retire them at 60.

You dont have to pay your license fee if you dont watch telly.

The old guard get kept on or people get kept on because they are good at their job - if someone is good you keep them

I didn't say that "Others couldn't", I said, "Not be able to do it as well."

You would think for somebody, "With no talent what so ever", would have been found out by now, wouldn't you, after what, 60 plus years?

Brucie is a nice bloke but I have to agree with most of the comments on here that he is past his best.

I think he has done a brilliant job hosting loads of programs maybe that is because I have seen him evolve into a tv legend, but when your time is up it is better to go out with people wanting more.

If you haven't got something good to say about another its probably best left unsaid...

This is the kind of attitude I've tried to adopt for the past 4 years and I must say I'm happier for it.

As for Bruce Forsyth- I've never met the guy so can't form an opinion and refuse to do so on the basis of what other people say.

You would hope so, otherwise we have another 20 years before Lenny Henry is found out.

now that is one annoying 'comedian'............bloody jungle noises every 2 mins and humour that wouldn't pass the Beano writers panel
