Finally Bruce Forsyth has taken the hint and announced he's stepping down from Strictly. Good riddance to a bumbling fool that made watching the programme highly irritating. If only he'd announce a full retirement from our screens next

OMG Homer, never a more accurately written post!!

I like Brucie- always have, always fun and great with people and one liners.

Didnt do strictly come dancing- I'm a bloke!

Shame - a cornerstone in the BBC.

His corny one liners were funny.

He is a cracking bloke

Hope he enjoys his retirement

He really is NOT!!! Watch the Louis Theroux about him from a few years ago and you will quickly find out what a nasty piece of work he is!!!

I met him at a pro am about 25 years ago when the company I was working for at the time sponsored the first tee.I was on the gate at the hospitality tent and as Brucie approached me I asked for his name as I couldn't find it on my list.
The miserable bugger pushed me out of the way and said I do the jokes sonny.

Couldn't agree more. Hopefully his annoying, talentless co-host will join him!

Friend of mine used to work at the BBC as a lighting engineer - said Forsyth was a horrible man and treated all those behind the scenes like dirt and got a few people sacked.

Met him twice at Celeb Pro Am's and been nothing but nice both times

Guess there will always be two sides to a celeb

Kind of glad in a way. He did look somewhat bumbling and doddery last year - his statement today ensures he goes out with a bit of dignity. I have seen him in person at Wentworth - and he was a grumpy old fart surprisingly.

I met him at a couple of pro celeb golf events and he was miserable and the only celeb who wouldnt give autographs to the kids who asked him.

They are just commentators ? Knowledgable ones at that.

It saddens me to read some of the disrespectful remarks about Bruce Forsyth. He doesn't deserve any of it, and he can't be happy and jolly all the time.

To be able to do what he has done on Strictly, at his age is commendable. Some people at half his age would not be able to do it as well. Ok he makes a few mistakes, and readily admits to it but always handles it in a professional way.

Sorry, what?

As in what has he done that others couldn't?

Stand up for 5 mins, not be able to read an Auto Que.sure he's getting on, but he has had a long and profitable career with no talent what so ever.

Brucie, enjoy your retirement, and don't rush back..please
