Just acquired a lovely looking Bruce Clark Elan Aspir8 Waterproof jacket F.O.C.from a pal.

No idea of how much it is worth as he won it at a corporate day (has a nice Dukes Course emblem on it) but it's very smart in my opinion.

I have to admit I hadn't seen or heard of this company for a long while but I really like the look of the jacket which has a 3 year guarantee.

Anyone have any experience of them?

They must have started back up because as far as I'm aware they went out of business a few years ago.

hey craw seeing that the mood is nice and people giving away stuff for free, that titleist driver is making ur sig look a bit untidy mate , nudge wink i stay quite local.
well done doger freebies are always good, looks quite gavin greenish on the website, do they seem to be of same quality

Really really lightweight and I mean really light!

Will see how good when it rains but a 3 year guarantee is good.

Hi Dodger

I wear the same jacket (and I also got mine free!)

FYI Bruce Clark did go out of business a few years ago. The guy behind the company then went to design the rainwear ranges for Callaway and Ashworth in the states.

Brand was re-launched with the original designer last year. More info on the site here http://www.bruceclark.com/#!about

Out of interest, there was an article in Bunkered magazine (last month?)with the Dukes greenkeepers, who are all kitted out in the same suits!

Hey guys, Bob Clark here, I'm the guy behind the Bruce Clark brand having started the company in 1981, between 2002 and 2009 I have been running the Callaway Golf and Ashworth outerwear programmes but last year re-launched the Bruce Clark brand. Glad to hear positive memories of the brand. You can follow us on Twitter, Facebook and our Blog as well as visiting our website www.bruceclark.com, lots of new stuff coming.

Thanks, its been a tough time to bring back the brand but we are slowly and steadily making progress. We are supplying the European team for the Amateur Ryder Cup next month at Whistling Straits and we supplied the official jackets for the recent Power Play Golf tournament at Celtic Manor, as well as all the staff at The Dukes and the shuttle drivers at The Old Course Hotel.

i think a panel of forum members to test some of the stuff would be a winner ;) ;)

It looks like cracking gear and moight invest in a top or two

Bob, are you going to be bringing back that iconic jacket with the mad triangles on it? At the time it was rather funky, I had one of these.

Thanks Chris, go see John Farren at Ballyliffin GC he will take good care of you.

The only problem with that is everything is logo'd(sp?) with the Ballyliffen logo, is there no way to get the stuff through your website?

Bob,stick around, we have Gokart on here plus hopefully yourself as well as auld Boab for our free advice, Ethan for shaft know how and advice plus me to start the fights!

Its a dam fine forum.

Oh, and all the best with the re-launch of Bruce Clark.

Dodger,

any "long-ish" term report on the Elan jacket????

I'm interested in possibly buying one and supporting a "local" company!

I remember the brand when I first started playing and it certainly was rated as good gear.

Welcome Bob, always nice to to have an expert here and we do get a new thread every 6 weeks entitled " I am thinking of getting a new wet suit ....." we'lll leave that one to you then!
