Heading up there next weekend, looking for a bit of advice about these wee gems...whats rates highest amongst the locals?

Brora is old style golf, lovely course with superb views. Classic out and back style course. well worth a visit IMO.

Patricks148 will be able to give you more info. He's a member of Tain.

And here i am on Que.

Tain is in super condition at the moment played tuesday night, greens pretty quick.

Brora, not played it this year but last year was excellent and the new greenskeeper has made the course even better.

Golspie, Ok, its a mix of links heathland and parkland was not in great nic last time i played so have not bothered since. lots of moss on some of he holes.

I'm playing at Tain next Sat as nairn is Closed for the Curtis cup from next Thurs.

Why not try Dornoch they do a evening rate after a certain time or the Struie is a lovely course and quite cheap.

I would play ; Tain, Brora, and Dornoch/Struie

Thanks Patrick, exactly what I was looking for.

Keen to play Dornoch, but the only times available are quite late in the day, we'd prefer to play early.

Looking forward to it, hopefully the weather keeps good.

At the weekend you won't get morning times as that will be memebers and i think its a medal weekend.

I would go for the later time its light till at least 10pm at the moment.

Plus a later time will get you around quicker, afternoon will be full of yanks taking 5 1/2 hours to get around.

Conditioning issues aside ... Brora, then Golspie. Tain ... never liked it ... although, it should be in quite good nick as it's just hosted the Scottish Ladies'.
