as the title implies, i need some advice for my broadband.
I have wireless under contract from 3 and the speed and signal strengh is frankly cr**. is there anything i can do to make it perform better as it drives me insane when i get a big message saying CONNECTION FAILED at the worst possible moments

You don't make it clear. Is this through a 3G dongle or a wired telephone line.
 
If you are talking about a 3G dongle, if you cannot get a good signal anywhere in your house then your only option is to go back to 3 and complain.

Realistically, they should have checked the signal in your area using your postcode before accepting your order, but unfortunately there is no guarantee that they will have done that, or that their signal checker is 100% accurate.
