Was forced to watch...honest!
Firstly I was very miffed to say the least when my mrs announced she had no idea who Jimmy Page was.:angry: Hero of mine.
Secondly, I thought Royal Blood were excellent playing live but for the life of me (being someone who has played electric guitar and bass) how can 2 people sound like a full 5 piece band rock band with only drums, one bass and one voice? Was there a backing band hidden away somewhere and if not how can a bass guitar sound so full and high in range like a rhythm guitar? Impressed.

chris evans also thinks it was staged, BUT, you wouldnt take the risk falling backwards down 3 steps for that, a 'flat fall' would still get the desired PR impact without the danger, so no I'm convinced that wasnt staged. When she got up she looked like Captain Mainwairing does after a slight stumble.

They seem to be giving awards out for selling a lot of records nowadays and rewarding shifting unit instead of producing quality music. It was on in the bar I was in whilst I was having a pint after playing badminton (look on in envy my Scottish friends) and saw Sam Smith get one for what I could work out, basically selling a shed load of records. But what is the point of that? He's already sold lots of records, why does he need an award for that, surely awards should be for artistic excellence, not just selling records?
Same for the critics choice award thing they give out. All it is are the record industry deciding which person/group they think will shift loads of records, so they give them this award, make them high profile to give them a chance of shifting more records.

I thought it was a good year
Cannot deny Sam smith and George Ezra have great voices, Paloma Faith is quality, Ed Sheeran is very talented singer songwriter and quite original.
The Royal Band were very good.
Not as if the golfing industry don't give out gongs for the same reason ... Player of the year, card on award, Hall of Fame etc
