Bring back Pro-celebrity Golf on the Telly

Some of you younger ones might not remember Peter Allis & co on I think BBC 2 doing the wonderful Pro celebrity golf, 2 pros 2 celebs and PA playing 9 holes and chatting.

Let me suggest Chris Evans as host and say Mickleson & Jimenez as the pro's, anyone got other suggestions??

I'm all for it, in these days we got no golf really so the 35 mins on BBC in winter was a great injection, however, with 300+ channels its golf all the time but I'd def love to see this format in the UK back again, Good call with Chris Evans but the pro's need better personalities than Mickelson and Jimenez IMO

Was thinking about this the other week, definitely a plus one to bring it back. A lot of people don't like Evans, but likewise some don't like Alliss. Can't please everyone and Evans is very passionate about the game, so I'd be OK with him. As for the pro's tough call, I think G-Mac and Clarkey would work well.

Good call, however too much gaelic influence, how about flaky old Bubba altho' we would need a translator!!

Indeed he was, Ronnie Corbett, Sir Henry Cooper, Terry Wogan (? longest putt ever at I think Gleneagles)
Bobby Charlton, etc etc. I seem to remember a very young Seve as a pro too

Plenty of golfing clebritites that could host it such as Spoony etc. I think it would need to be pros towards the end of their careers as I can't see Rory giving up several weeks of his year to film the programmes. Having met the guy I think Monty could be good in this type of environment where he can be more relaxed and entertaining (no really). Be good to see Evans as a player though

would deffo be a good watch though. Although my kids moan now cos I hog the sky+ with my golf and footy

Got to have Alice Cooper in the mix - he takes his golf seriously but can you imagine him and some of the more steady pros pairing up - would be fun to watch.
