Brace yourselves, winter is coming!

again just because the south east had bad weather, you assume every other part of the country did.

Not up here, as i said we had the driest winter in 50 years

Sarf East?? Who lives there anyway!

Read the MET report!

Winter 2014 was an exceptionally stormy season, with at least 12 major winter storms affecting the UK in two spells from mid-December to early January, and again from late January to mid-February. When considered overall, this was the stormiest period of weather experienced by the UK for at least 20 years. An analysis of pressure fields by the University of East Anglia suggests this winter has had more very severe gale days than any other winter season in a series from 1871.

The persistent heavy rainfall through the season resulted in this being the wettest winter for the UK, England, Wales and Scotland, and the equal-wettest winter for Northern Ireland in series from 1910.

I'm worried that the water tables around here will still be high and so any significant winter snowfall or heavy rain will result in the same waterlogging issues we had last year when we were down to nine holes for long periods. We've just invested in some drainage work on the lowest lying holes so hopefully we'll be better placed. Not much you can do with heavy snow. Off to the range I guess to keep it ticking over. However I'm sceptical of all these scaremongering stories and I'll believe it when I see it

Lack of golf? I think the course was closed once over the winter. Its just there are to many precious types on here who always seem to be offended on someone else's behalf!

Wow, out of 2291 posts I actually agree with paddy!!

I'm definitely not well......

Feel free to pop over, would be good to see you again,

That's an invitation I'll definitely be taking up.
I probably go to Lincoln once a week or so and can come back on the Lincoln Metheringham road.

Give me a shout when your free and you fancy a bash round Pebble Beach :)

That's the Met office for you.

There is a wee flood plain about 2 miles from my house about the size of 4 football fields.
Most winters it lies with water for about 4 months.
It is now filling up for the first time in a couple of years.

No probs. Free any day most weeks, monday - friday 0930-1500. Will pm my address etc. in a mo.

I'll believe it when i see it!!!! The Daily Express, bless em, keep releasing ridiculous front page headlines with extreme weather connotations. Their promise of a Saharan summer didn't materialise so i take their winter predictions with a pinch of salt too. My first impressions of this place are excellent so hope harmony can be maintained going forward !!!

But they did alternate them with more exclusive stories about Diana being murdered by MI5 as part of a Royal conspiracy.
