Finally got some time off work before my hol next week (4 days golf at Carlyon Bay, Cornwall, lovely) so spent every day this week at my course putting in some hard practice before deciding that on the 5th day (fri) i would take to the course bearing in mind that usually my golf club is quite quiet on a Fri pm during the hols. Big mistake! Had 5 4 balls in front of me, and there were two groups waiting on the 2nd tee!! Low and behold I parred the 1st, waited 15 mins, parred the 2nd and realised there really was no point so i sadly walked off the course and took sanctuary in the clubhouse feeling dejected. So much for taking the hard practice onto the course. Was gutted. Will have to wait for Cornwall now. Bring it on (with no 4 balls in front!)

PS. Main reason for joining this forum, so I don't have to keep trawling round the course on my own because mates always seem to cry off turning up at the last minute. I look forward to meeting you all.

I've had this problem before and sometimes I skip a hole or 2 - I can do this on my course in 2 or 3 places and you can make progress that way. As long as you don't "push" in!!

Good news is you parred the first 2.

Nice to see you've immediately got the hang of this forum. Get in with the hard luck stories early doors. There's always a cloud, even on the sunniest days.

4 days beautiful golf to look forward to. At your course every day for a week. Sounds like paradise. And what do we get ? The solitary cock up :D

Only joking ! ;)

Welcome. You'll definately fit in. Where are you based ?

I'm based in Arborfield nr Reading and have been a member at The Club at Mapledurham part of the Club Company for 8 year.
I know this post was slightly doom and gloom so I'll quickly zoom back in time to March of this year when I achieved my first hole in one. 18th hole 143 yds, wind from the right and helping, 9 iron, one bounce and rolled straight in the cup. What a feeling that was.

I prefered the hard luck story.

I hate people who are better than me ;)

If this happens again, try teeing off on the 10th & play the back 9 first then complete the front 9. ;) ;)
