Well done Phil. Good job you were not playing down here. We had a hail storm which covered my garden in thick ice for a couple of hours. Snelly was playing at Blackmoor so hope he got in before the white out.
Hi,
I didn't want to hijack the other thread so have started another on this.
It was quite amazing at Blackmoor last Thursday as we were surrounded by thunderstorms but a thin strip of clear weather stayed over us for the duration of the round! We all had a great time and the course was superb. Plaudits from all my mates about the place were constant over lunch. The greens came in for particular praise as the best any of us had played on so far this year.
What wasn't good was my golf. A bout of man flu meant I was a long way off firing all cylinders and I managed a paltry 30 points. I was one under for the last five holes so you can imagine how agricultural the first 13 were!
Nice birdie on the 18th in front of the watching society on the balcony though. Sand iron to a foot!
If anyone hasn't played Blackmoor, you should. A superb Harry Colt designed course and you are made to feel very welcome indeed as a visitor. First class all round. And the bar staff/waitresses are lovely! Seems like a very good pro at the club too.
Blackmoor - highly recommended.....
