Following up from the draw and tee times thread, some further details of the day.

8.30 onwards bacon rolls, tea and coffee.

10.00- 11.30 Morning 9 holes team stableford.

12.00 onwards lunch, sandwiches and chips.

1.30-3.00 Afternoon singles stableford.

7.00 onwards, rolling buffet and desert.

8.00-8.30 approx, prize giving.

Please note there is a half way hut which serves hot food and drinks, as well as cold drinks, ice creams etc. It is run by Clare who is a very friendly lady, and like's a good joke.

Jacket and ties are NOT required. Smart and casual at all times in the bar and dining-room.

On the course usual dress code, i.e no jeans, sleeveless shirts, football, cricket and rugby shirts etc.Shirts must have collars. Shorts must be tailored and medium length, and worn with long socks of any colour, or ankle socks which must be predominantly white. (I don't make the rules and as i never wear shorts for golf i couldn't care less !) Remember this is a smart members club.

There are four showers, but please note NO towels are provided. Bring your own !! A code for clubhouse entry is required, and can be obtained from the Pro Shop if i am not about. Beware the Pro Shop is well stocked with a lot of Ping gear, at very reasonable prices. Steve Clay the Pro is very friendly, and does like to chat.

Mobile phones can be used in the clubhouse foyer, and car park.

I have tried to put a player in each group that has played the course before, but be careful as while tees are well sign posted, some of them are not the ones you see as you come off the previous green. There is a shared tee on 12 and 15 so make sure you hit in the right direction. :D

Post code of club is GU35 9EH, and telephone number 01420 472775. Further details can be find on the link below.

If i have forgotten anything just ask, and make sure you bring your most accurate game with you, and a silky putting touch. ;) ;) ;)

Thanks Rich , thats a very detailed itinerary. One question though , which tees are we using ?

Got to have some surprises on the day ! Will check with the club, but to be honest the difference between the white and yellows is very small. There is only one tee where the whites and yellows are not on the same small tee block.

If I don't look back and laugh I'd cry, done people see me laughing continuously and worry about my health, as long as I don't own quite trousers I'm sane!...... Honest.

My only worry is what colour shirt to wear with my white chinos.

That's it.
Either I'm not going or I want a different tee-time.
It'll be bad enough following Smiffy round Blackmoor all day but it would seriously do my napper in having to watch him mince his way round the course in white troozers, especially at his age

I think all those who have an hour+ driving should have to call in with Richart to say we got home safely after a long boozefilled day like that. I am REALLY not looking forward to the drive home, I am going to be burnt out!

It must be all of 20 miles to Winchester :D

A quick check on AA routefinder makes it about 25 Bob
Give the lad a break

Err errm.. I am allergic to driving? :D

Huh just checked it and its 25... about 45 mins

Probably should have done that first, I had it in my head it was well over an hour for some reason, actually the course is a lot closer than I thought it was!

Looks a pretty easy short hop across the A272

Add in going to pick up SyR and drop him off and its an hour barely each way... Do I qualify now?

Tis funny he has an early tee time and mine is late, an hour apart but we get there at the same time. More warmup for me :D

I can't believe you feel you are going to be "burnt out" after 27 holes at your age!
I was walking 36 a day for 6 days on the trot in Scotland when I was in my 30's, carrying!

I am lazy modern mid 20s bloke.

I also have had lots of health issues in the past 2 years :( :( :( Since my surgery I am better though

As a kid I used to run 4 miles about 5 times a week!
