Blackmoor 30 March - Who will win?

That heather looks tempting on the left of the 1st, i'm already eying that up

Looks fantastic and have a mixture of excitement and nervousness already.

Any chance of moving this 'up the charts' as Smiffy's pictures are great and worth seeing for those attending in June? Or start another thread?

Can i ask if its a drawers course or a faders course?

It's certainly not a fatters, thinners, slicers or hookers course. Or a big pull left or big block righters course either.
I tried them all yesterday and it bit me in the arse.
Played the first superbly. Lovely, well stuck 4 iron down right of centre, left me a solid 8 iron into the green, and two putts for par. It's stroke index 13 that one, and I get a shot on it now by the way Bob.... :D :D :D
Feeling full of confidence, I hit a lovely 5 wood off the next tee (you've got to play for position on that one) to position X, came up just short with my 9 iron approach, putted from off the green and two putted for my bogie. Pulled my drive slightly on the 3rd, had over 200 yards to go and caught my 3 wood a tad heavy. Just came up short left, fatted my chip slightly but two putted for another bogie. 7 points after 3 holes and cooking on gas.
Then the crap started....

Me, after just hitting a lovely 8 iron to the heart of the 12th green

Yes ;) ;)

But don't get JustOne involved :D :D

It's DEFINITELY a faders course which is why I played it so sh*t last time. As part of my preperation for the forum meet I'm currently learning (struggling) to hit a nice fade....

If you fade it and end up on the right side you are either blocked out by trees or have a nasty bunker to go over. You are best off if you are on the left hand side of most fairways as this will give you the easiest shot into the green.

So a slice or hook is not a good shot to have in the bag!

Best solution is to hit it straight! :) :)

As the meeting is in June and the possibility of dry, running conditions, it is not good to be long unless you are accurate. You can easily run off into a lot of trouble!

Is someone about to tee off with a feckin' tangerine???? :D :D

That's Paul, he was worried about a sudden snow storm. ;)

Don't think you could have hit your shot yet Rob, as we didn't have the honour all day. :( :( :(

That tangarine did the business on the 12th - nice little birdie - you should have seen Sir Smithy of the South Coast's face!! :D

Got a bit caried away in Blackmoor's pro shop - 3 orange AD33s, 2 half price Galvin Green tee shirts and 2 dozen yellow Z stars (£38 )! :D

You are forgetting about the 1st and 2nd Rich.
I parred the 1st remember? Two putted.
And two putted the 2nd. You three putted.
:D :D :D :D :D ;)

I was pulling the stupid face in preparation of hitting the green with a lovely 8 iron, I forgot.
