Blackmoor 30 March - Who will win?

see you tomorrow Rich - be on the putting gren about 9.30am preparing for battle!! First round is on me if I take more putts than Smiffy!!

Sounds like no gimmies tomorrow then.  :D

See you tomorrow i will be wearing my pink trousers and white shirt (team colours) ;)

Bit late, but another with first hand experience of some solid TXL play, and PN being no slouch I'm going for a visitors triumph of 3&1

I've also heard the home captains partners handicap is on a slippery slope. 35 putts.

Well, a huge thanks must go to Richard for inviting us to play such a great course (those attending the event in June are in for a treat :) ). Many thanks to Richard, Paul and Rob for an entertaining round of golf :) The rain tried to put a dampener on events, but the banter could not have been better.

Oh, the result, Smiffy had 30 putts and the visitors managed to somehow win :) :)

Bob, Smiffy did remember to take the camera out so no doubt there will be some pictures to follow in the next couple of days.

I echo what Anthony said - thanks partner (did he say that we had a narrow win :)) and Richard for inviting us and Smithy for, among other things, the joke of the day. We had the worst weather for weeks but had a really great game of golf on an amazing golf course - it really is top notch and very underrated - there are not many couses in the heathlands that I would place above it. The green sites have big, sometimes very big, bumkers and wickedly sloping greens which will be a right handful when quick - there should be a few embarrasing stories from the event in June.

The meeting in June will be awesome - can't wait.

Gary and Feary - good call on the result!! :o

So the pink pansies got beat, lol

We didn't get beat, we got stuffed !! :( :( :( :( ;)

Well played lads, sorry we couldn't give you a better game. The score, well let's just say it was worse than a dog licence and leave it at that. :o :o :o :o ;)

Anthony had a great 40 points, Paul had 33, with a couple of tasty birdies, and Smiffy and i had solid 20 somethings.

Enjoyed the banter even if the pink team were the butt of all of it. :D I did witness a new shot to me, Smiffy charging up to his ball, that had unluckily hit a tree and dropped down, and smacking it on the run. Probably the shot of the day !

The good news was the old boy putted well with his sawn off putter, otherwise we could have really got a beating. :D

How on earth can you score 20-odd points with only 30 putts.

By going OOB three times on three different holes. By playing like an absolute knob end.
Couldn't do anything right. Except putt. I came out the traps like a tadpole. Had 7 points after 3 holes (but we were still 2 down!) and then the wheels came off big time.
My worst game for ages, what swing I had just got faster and faster and I ache like feck this morning. All over.
Big thanks to Richart for the hospitality, and to Paul and Anthony for their company and banter.
Got in just after 9pm last night as the A272 was closed off at Petersfield and I had to double back to the A3 and come home via the A27...
Some pics to follow.

I only had 30 putts though
:D

Few piccies. Course was in fantastic condition, greens were superb albeit a bit slow 'cos it was raining most of the day, but they were in great nick.

There are quite a few holes that dog leg right, but if you fade the ball too much you get blocked out. A lot of the holes you actually need to hit into the green from the left side of the fairway. You should be fine PJ, but you will need your putting boots on, as the greens can be quick and they have some severe slopes from back to front.
