bit annoyed at what could be my first club

Not an expert but I got my first handicap this April. I had cards around 105. I was given a handicap of 18. I am now currently off 20, but have gone the last month playing close to my handicap and the CSS.
15 is not fair, but on posting a 95 you have a solid enough game. Certainly 20 will give you a great chance of winning comps early days. After a couple of months playing the course, knowing the shots to play etc I would imagine you will be down to 15.
If you enjoy the course I would not let the handicap issue put you off, I would just get on and enjoy your golf.
Dont get annoyed about it, go on and enjoy playing regular golf on a course you no doubt enjoy.

im kind of glad this situation has arose, if so i would of joined the club, payed my joining fee's and because the club plays out of a muni thats owned by the council i would still be paying to play each round so over time it would be alot lot more

its made me look into alternatives, and have found a deal that would better suit me and my pocket! alltho i havent played there and its a little further from me its really no issue,

reading reviews you need to be very accurate as its narrow alltho not too long 5706 off the whites, can only see that helping me in the long run lol

all things happen for a reason Richie :)

I could have joined a club with 2 courses, practice facilities etc at 4x the cost of my club, what swayed me? not just price but also the fact I can roll up and play 9 or 18 whenever I want without worrying about societies etc

now go get that bandit 28 h/c ;)

Sounds like a bit of a weird club set up to me. They are basically saying they don't trust you as a new member and even worse they don't trust the existing members who signed your scorecards!!

The handicap system is always going to be open to bandits but they soon get either a hefty cut or people learn who they are and act accordingly. In the meantime you have to live with the system as it is - not make players take on fairytale handicaps!
