If I didn't make a few birdies I'd be off about 16 :rofl:
Can make bogeys and doubles with the best of them but usually have a couple of birdies to bail me out

What's your hcp or are you making this up?
current h'cap is 5. I've had 5 in a row on a number of occasions. The 7 in a round at Cooden was in an outing organised by Smiffy. Had 6 in the last 11 holes in a club championship a while back - sadly I was too far off the pace when my caddie rollocked me for being lazy.

5 in a row on several occasions? That sounds something that would be a very rare occurrence for the best players in the world - sorry!

Well I saw a 4 HC hit 5 in a row on the Marquess at Woburn of the back pegs - that's an Open Qualifying Course
Your response to people do these things was that maybe the courses near you are harder.
No need to be sorry. If I could be bothered giving you my HDID account details you could have a look back, or maybe copies of several local newspapers. With 48 yrs golf, over 40 of which at a lower level than I am now.... By all means be sceptical.
By all means come up for a game. I'm not promising a miracle but I'm sure an arthritic 57 yr old might still shock you.

Yeah I know what you mean. But 4 in a row is my best, I once had 7 birdies in one round, I was 6 under gross after 10 holes then I had a stupid thought on the 11th tee and my round went rapidly downhill and shot level par.

If it helps to bring balance to the birdy fest that some are having I got a birdy on the 16th on the old course but got a 9 on the 17th ( could not get out of the bunker) straight after lol

One area of my game that needs to improve. Churning out pars is great, but need to make more birdies. I need to hit the ball closer really, so need to sort iron play and swing out

I'm very capable of shooting low 70's scores without a birdie on the card
At my course par is 70(SSS69) - an average decent round for me would be 6/7 bogeys, maybe 1 birdie and the rest pars...
Having said that I do get going sometimes, started with 3 straight birdies a few years back and have 5 in a round a few times as well.
Most of mine tend to be on par 5s..

I've had two birdies so far this year, on the rare occasions when it was possible to play due to the wet weather. One at a par 3 must have been pretty close to a hole in one, because my pitch mark was about 4 feet in front of the hole and the ball finished 9" behind it in a direct line.

Playing a friendly 3 ball on Wednesday I had 4 birdies, with 2 of them on consecutive holes. Without them the round would have been about 2 shots under my handicap but I played to about a 6 h/c because of the birdies
