Its what we all really want. Looking thought the stats on HDID today i noticed that i have had birdies this year on 14 of the 18 holes at our place in competitions.

For those that know my course, the holes i havnt birdied were 2,6, 10 & 15.

6 - long uphill par 4 with bushes that swallow golf balls all the way up the right. if i dont get a good drive at this hole i lay up.

15 - runs parallel to the 6th. OB all down the right. SI 1. i usually play this quite conservative as i dont want to knock one OB and also like to keep the round going. im usually happy with a bogey here.

the 2nd is a straight foward par 5. i birdie it pretty regularly in practice. shocked i havnt got one in comp.

the 10th i take two irons instead of driver so usally leave 160 approach. this takes out the danger of water left and ob right off the tee so i can see why my birdie opportunites would be limited here. still kind of surprised i havnt rolled one in on this hole as i am not pleased with a bogey at this hole ever!

how many of the 18 have you guys birdied in the last 6 months? im intrested to know :)

Im struggling with the 1st and the 18th for some reason & thats over the last year or more .. have birdied all, eagled some & ACED ONE:) of the other 16... 1st is not an over hard par 4, SI 5, mostly wedge or 9 iron second in to it , last is a par 5 , have made a mess of that more times than i care to imagine & it should be a doddle .. but no ... 4 over on the 18th tee off the blues single strokes on sunday . carded a 7 .. think it a mental thing now ..

Interestingly I set myself a goal at the start of the year to birdie every hole on the course in a strokeplay comp. Sadly, I've only managed to birdie nine of them (some several times)..... so far!!

This is only my second year at the club and I have birdied every hole on the course at some stage so it is possible but a few of them are tough to make your birdie at.

My target this year was to Birdie every hole during competition play too.

I have birdied or better 12 of our 18 holes.

1st, 5th, 8th, 9th, 11th and 17th.

So time is running out and the birdies have dried up.....

Ah...birdies....the elusive little blighters!!

In all of the qualifiers I played this year I have had 1. :( That was a chip in 2 on our par 3 18th.

When there is no card to be seen I have birdied every hole multiple times. I played in a charity bow maker on Sunday and had 2 birdies, and in a bounce game yesterday in the rain I had another 2.

I think it's mainly down to being too cautious with the putter in comps and the fear of racing a putt by. Never up, never in and all that but I can't seem to convert the chances in comps!

I've birdied the same hole on one of my local courses three rounds in a row yet I haven't birdied any other hole (I've played there four rounds this year). It's wierd, it's not even an easy hole as there is a massive bunker guarding an elevated green that isn't very deep with thick rough behind. Just keep rolling them in!

I'm missing one at my course the 6th.

A fairly straight forward par 4 of around 350 yards. Hard green alright with a lot of contours and never an easy putt on it but it's one I should be capable of getting a birdie at (index 10). But for some reason I've yet to manage it this year. I'll be getting frustrated with it soon haha!

In competition play i've only birdied 7 holes, ironically those 7 holes i've birdied multiple times. What gets me though of those 7 holes only one of them is above S.I 7. The easier holes i've had my worst scores on this year and the harder ones i've either had birdie or par on more than anything else.

need to figure out how to play the easier holes as well as I play the tougher ones. S.I 1 birdie 4 times in comps, S.I 18 barely managed a par on all year!

I don't think I've birdied any of our four par 3s (I like to think they are our mentally toughest holes).

Also I haven't birdied our par 4 2nd - an 'up and over' 474 yard dog-leg played into the prevailing wind. Steady uphill pull for about 320yds then fairly sharp dogleg to right and 150yds gently downhill to green - bunkered frontside left and right. Fairway watering so even when dry we don't get a huge amount of help off the fairway. As most members don't get their sunday best further than maybe 240yds off the tee hitting the green in two is not really on for most. I think I've birdied the rest.

In comps I'm closer to Fader with maybe 10 birdies.

Blimey... I not sure I've even played my home course in the last 6 months!! lol

I've Birdied them all - not all in Competiton as I've only played 5 and that would mean I'd shot some really low rounds (No chance there then) - although the normal Friday bash with Fragger could be described as a competition.....
Also had 3 Eagles to give me an Eclectic score of 21 under par.........

Always a goal of mine each year - got 17 of the 18 at Pyrford and all 18 at Sunbury. Managed seven birdies in a round this morning for the third time ever. One day I'll get eight!

haven't access to the eclectic results at the moment but this time last year is was about -17; so that covers the main question

in one round it's 6 of the first 11 in a match last year; in strokeplay comps I haven't managed more than 5 in a round...

Birdies? there are still 5 I haven't even parred in comps! only birdied 2. I have done a bir bwtter if you included matchplay games.

some shooting there duncan! played my mates a 9 hole match tonight and had 3 in nine holes. the second (par5) and two par 3's! wish i could do that in competition more. putter was smoking hot! still didnt lift the pounds as i blanked 2 holes. two of us had 17 points :(

Not making too many at the moment but I'm also not making too many cricket scores either so I'll take that for the moment. If I can start getting the putter working again then I'm sure I can start making a few.

Not too many. I often wonder if this is me or the course? Birdie-ing every hole on mine is not in the boundaries of plausibility, unless I pitch it in of course.

Still have 1,2,5,10,12,13,14,15,16 left to do. So ive only done half the course then lol. Missed so many chances on 1 and 13.

In my competition rounds since march I've had 50 birdies and 2 eagles, have birdied 16 of the holes with index 1&5 missing, both long hard par 4s, both great holes, I just don't give myself enough birdie chances on them choosing to avoid attacking the pin in favour of going for a safe par/bogey at worst.
Best in 1 round is 4 birdies and an eagle with an eclectic score of 54.
:)
