Beverly Lewis RIP

Just saw her obituary today.

Heard about this a couple of days back. Loved her stuff on BBC, Peter Alliss always called her "Mrs Lewis" when she was the on course reporter, she gave him as good as she got.

Smashing lady by all accounts. Sad news

Met her at the official opening of Middlesbrough Municipal GC, where she was playing in the pro-am. What a lovely, genuine lady. What a fantastic, effortless swing. *sigh*

I was wondering what a person to do with writing childrens books was doing being mentioned on a golf forum.

I now realised that this Beverley Lewis was not top of the google charts.

Very sad to hear.

I had the pleasure of admiring her swing for several holes at Thorndon Park (fantastic course; definitely one to play if you can) some years ago before recognising her voice in the clubhouse. Alas, another part of my golfing memories has gone!
