Best single seater golf buggy

Just resurrecting this thread with a bit of an update. Arthritis is still here cotosone injection in one knee. now have problems with the para spinal muscles which are lower back/ disc which is herniated and the nerves are protruding which is a problem walking at times but take tablets to alleviate the pain. It is not going to go better being 75 but I wish to persevere with golf and have around 20/25 single opens booked in Scotland this year including Boat of Garten, Cruden Bay, The New, Lundin and Moray.

Bought a ride on buggy 18 months ago but it was too big a disaster my fault as I am not technical at all.

The positive is I have changed my car and now have a Puma Hatchback which has a huge well which will help.
I know Jim and WillMax helped last time but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

What make model of buggy did you decide on. you can buy ramp that attatch to your boot to allow the buggy to be driven in. A couple of friends had to fit a false floor in their boot to accomodate the buggy.

Sorry cannot remember now. It went back.

My wife and son think because I lack any technical skills at all I should rent which is an option I am considering.

I recommended a Grasshopper and a triplette ramp with rubber mats to protect bumper and boot entry paintwork . You can remove the seat to lower height for driving it in (backwards is best) My last car had a deep well and used a pallet cut to the right size to fit the well.

Buying or renting is simple maths for me I generally play twice (used to play more) a week so renting would be approx 100 x 25= £2500 a year, new buggy costs £3k so buggy paid for in less than 18 months.

One thing you have to watch for if you are playing opens is that a lot of courses do not allow players to use their own buggies.

And don't drive sideways across a steep hill, as I found out ouch.lol.

Despite telling a few about this I have seen one or two still go over.

One mate did it about 4 times including driving too fast in the car park and going completely over driving round a sharp turning. He once did it when playing with two of us with bad backs and was told we could not help him to get it upright. Luckily we had another person with us and the 2 off got it upright , then he nearly turned over again just off the next tee by going over the corner edge of the ladies tee. He once ended up turned completely over in a bunker.
