Best middle of the range ball?

I've just bought 2 dozen taylormade burners for 13 per dozen. Played with one today, and quite impressed. A bit too soft, but ok.

Don't like ad333, and never tried the px3.

Nxt tour are fine, if you can get them for the right price, as are Bridgestone e6.

Pinnacle exception are ok too, despite the name. Not sure what their current equivalent is, but they are made by Acushnet, who are the parent company for titleist. Avoid anything distance related though. Or gold.

The AD333 is a nice ball but given the choice I'd probably go for NXT Tour in preference. There's a new NXT Tour out soon I think so there may be some bargains in the old model. Used some TP Black recently and really liked them. Got some Tri-Speed which I hope to try out later this year too.

I would say though that I am sure you will find any of these fine and will feel very different and much better than the cheaper "distance balls".

I just got back from American golf with 2 dozen TM burner TP's, 3 piece ball, for 14.99 a dozen! That's about 10 quid off. Ok the ball is now end of life, but if it plays between the normal burner and the penta, I am one happy man!

Never had any love for the Ad333. I have always found that the Wilson Staff DX2/3 are better in every way. The Sroxon Trispeed is a very good ball but a bit more expensive and the Bridgestone E6 is another good option (or the E5 if you want more spin and do not mind losing some distance).

DX2 peepees all over the AD333. Softer feel off irons and much more importantly around the greens and with the putter. The AD333 is like a Pinnacle in comparison. Clicky and dead.

A very under rated ball which is very cheap is the Pinnacle Gold Precision it's not too disimmilar to the AD333 and is far better than previous Pinnacle balls.

I've used the Wilson DX2's and DX3's and find them similar to the Srixon Soft Feel in that they are very good balls but they do scuff up quite easily.

The AD333 like the Pinnacle Precisions are slightly harder than the Soft Feel and Wilsons however they are far more durable and will go several rounds without too many issues. The Srixon does have the edge over the Pinnacle around the greens but if you are on a budget at around £10 for 15 balls the Pinnacles represent god value for money.

Ref the Bridgestone balls, (Newing), they are very popular in Asia and given the choice I would take them any day over Titleist.

Another vote for the DX2 & DX3. Been using them this Winter and have been impressed with the feel and durability.

Srixon balls don't float my boat. IMO the old ZURS and ZURC were miles better than the Z-Stars.

I'm just back from Florida and I tried the new Titliest Velocity ball. Placed between the NXT and Pro V it is a fantastic ball and should be here in a couple of months.

used the prov1x today. great ball. it was still in great shape at the end of the round. the normal prov's cut up very easily. ill probably play these in the summer.

Spend the extra few quid over the AD333 and go for the Titleist NXT Tour.

I much prefer the Srixon softfeels to the 333s. A very good ball. Will try the Dx3s next based on opinions here, but NXTs are a great ball too.

Nowt like finding a shiny ProV in the rough though!
