Best goals ever in the premier league

Good shout.

Or Di Canio with the first time volley for West Ham......

I think great goals should have more than one thing to them. Anyone can catch it sweet in their lives and nail in it on the volley from 40 yards into the top corner. A great 10 man with intricate passing or beating a few defenders then finishing sweetly does it for me.

Its hard to pinpoint one but that Yeboah goal - he beat a few men then laced it in. The volley against us was great, but the other one had more to it.

other notables - le tiss v newcastle, and one against blackburn, henry v liverpool. Di canio's volley. I remember Dalian atkinson scoring a few crackers for Villa as well.

Bergkamp v newcastle - call me a heretic, but I dont think he mean that turn, i;ve only ever seen it controlled that way going round the other side of the defender. If he did mean it that way then great, but I dont reckon he did.

Gazza's free-kick against the Gunners was a beauty, but might have been the FA cup.

I agree with the comment above about no goal being all things to all men and each goal resonating for a different reason. There is also the element of skill as against the interference of luck. For me a goal like Bergkamp's trumps a goal which Chris Brunt would be capable of scoring where 9 times out of 10 it sails harmlessly away from goal.

There's loads of great goals but one of my favourites is Torres's for Liverpool against Blackburn where he brought it over his shoulder and volleyed it from the corner of the 18yd box. Worldie.

Also remember Juninho scoring a few for Boro.

Cantona's goal againgast Liverpool, but again, think that wa sthe F.A Cup....was it Crouch's goal a couple of years ago with the volley from outside the right hand side of the 18 yard box?

Can't believe Paul Scholes hasn't featured on this list yet. I may be suffering from short-term memory, having seen one of Sky's homages last night (100 Club, I think) but the wee man scored some incredible goals. The volley against Villa, or the one from the corner against Bradford are highlights.

Aside from those two, off the top of my head, my personal favourites are:

Henry v Man Utd (as per Pin-Seeker's post above)
Just about any goal Le Tissier ever scored - even his penalties were works of art
Cantona's dribble and chip v Sunderland, I think
Cantona's control and volley (don't know who it was against - Palace, maybe? - but they were in that horrible half green/half yellow away kit)
Shearer's volley v Everton
Either of Yeboah's efforts mentioned above
Trever Sinclair's overhead volley from outside the box for QPR
Ginola's mazy dribble (can't remember who against)
Rooney's volley v Newcastle (I think he scored another great goal in that game too)
Phillipe Albert v Man Utd

I think this calls for a youtube trawl when I get home this evening :)

I think the Ginola dribble was against Barnsley. What about Sebastian Coates overhead volley against QPR last year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EEiro08kxM
