I'm looking at getting a 34" putter with a Super Stroke Slim Grip on it to see if it makes any improvements with my putting.

Has anyone gone from a belly putter to a normal length putter.

If you have what improvements have you seen since doing it?

I would think it takes some getting useful and sadly the greens are starting to get a bit iffy so constructive practice may be hard to find. Why are you making the change. My advice would be to get a lesson and talk to a pro first

I struggle with distance control at the moment with my belly putter and costing me shots, so I thought going back to a standard one would help.

Pop into a local AG and look at Pro-Core. Might be a cheaper option if you like the belly putter length. Has made a big difference to distance control especially with off centre hits

Thanks.

I've just looked on the AG website and searched for Pro-Core but it couldn't find anything.

How does Pro-Core work?

Swapped to a 34" Odyssey Metal X No.8 with a Super Stroke Lite 55 Grip and spent a good 45 minutes on the putting green before playing in a winter league match.

I noticed the difference after I stopped looking straight at the hole as soon as I hit the ball and kept my head still, and the distance control I had was a lot better as well.

I then took what I was working on to the course and I only had a two or three 3 putts today which is a massive improvement for me, I just need to start hitting more greens in regulation now.

I've changed putters a few times and my last change was from belly to standard. I found that it was pretty easy to change but what I had to do was address as to why my putts were poor. The belly putter was better initially as the stroke was generally up and down the line more but I really never liked the concept of anchoring, the initial change to it did help my putts drop more.

I realised thought, that putting is really only a repetitive motion, the same as the irons, and I bought a new putter and worked on putting like you would work hitting a 6 iron at the range, I improved my set up and rhythm and, with practice and a few tips from our asst pro, my putting has considerable improved.

Good luck in your efforts
