When I first stumbled upon the forum, I had no idea of the expected etiquette. Clearly I should have introduced myself immediately and retired gracefully until invited to speak. It will have become obvious that I am rather obsessive on the subject of handicaps and rules. That is because I have been Hon Sec (unpaid and unloved) for the last 10 years and I have a few tales to tell. I do have a sense of humour and don’t take myself too seriously. I have found the forum to be a treasure trove of opinions and experience and look forward to playing with many of the forummers - I can’t wait to meet them and put faces to postings. I should be able to arrange courtesy of the course for myself on most courses and would be very happy to pay the same as everyone else and throw my free round into the pot if courtesy is granted.

A belated welcome :)

I hope you have your jacket on. :p

I'm sure you know by now, but this place is great, just get stuck in.

Welcome.

I'm a bit of a Rules geek too. Not an expert by any means, and my knowledge is only so-so, but I do like looking stuff up on the R&A site, some fascinating decisions there. I like to see how the authorities regulate a game that is played in such a variety of conditions with such a range of possibilities and outcomes.
