My son is looking to buy a set of clubs for a Very occasional game of golf.
He has never played 18 holes but has fancied golf for a few years now and reckons first step is to get a set so he can go to the range etc.
Amazon do a Wilson set , driver , 3w , 4 hy, 6 -sw and for about £250.
Seems like a reasonable deal to me, any thoughts ?

Reasonable deal for someone that will only play once in a blue moon but not sure the build quality will be great. I know American Golf have done a Wilson starter set before and know someone (think it was also mentioned here historically) that had a problem. Second hand would be a better bet to get something that would not only last longer but would stand the test if he took a bigger interest in the game

Personally i'd look at 2nd hand gear, theres always a bargain to be had.

i reckon you'll get a better set up for 250 than what that wilson set offers.
