Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and indeed to the great game.
Any of you members at The Manor Kingstone (nr Uttoxeter)

C.

Welcome to the forum Chopper.

Never heard of your club, but you'll be pleased that the internet has. I've played Uttoxeter, Beau Desert, Izaak Walton and Trentham but never "the Manor".

Is it any good?

Enjoy the forum.

Welcome along chopper, good bunch on here but be prepared for some banter ;)

Welcome in pal. Do us a favour, when your handicap gets lower and you start to play well will you change yer name to 'quitegoodgolfer'?
I promise to do just that !!
At present early stages and working towards getting good enough to put some cards in to gain my handicap. (shooting 102/112 at present :o... work in progress) ;)

Hi RGDave,
I am not really in a position to comment, only I can say they seem really nice people and its only 12mins away from my home so I have made myself a member. Played it once with the pro I have had lessons with so now need to get some rounds in with whoever will have enough Patience with me! :o

You've done the right thing. I joined the nearest to me (5 miles, 7-8 minutes) and better to be near and use it than miles away and go once a week.
Get down there as often as possible and practice your short game.

Great advice this! You have to be patient but I've focussed predominantly on my short game and recently that practice is starting to pay off! I'd also recommend a chipping lesson if you haven't already had one. Homer harangued me into having one and it made a huge difference.
