Beau desert today

first group finished at 7:15, the next group were 30 minutes behind, and there were still 3 groups on the course when i left at 8pm. I imagine the final group got in the clubhouse circa 8:45, so maybe the meal has just about finished.

I didn't stop to collect the wooden spoon, i have plenty.

With regards Tim, I heard reports the balls were clearing the fence at the far end of the range

great day.....results

Whereditgo 2nd with 65(32&33)

Shortest drive Aztec 14 yds but G1BBO owned up to a 3 yarder!!

Tim's longest drive. .......371 yds on 18 (downhill, wind assisted) his next longest was 262 yds.

Tidiest @rse - waitress at Beau, closely followed by Regions!

Panic of the day - Lost wallet spent an hour driving round the course looking for it only to find it in the buggy he was driving around in looking for it.

Worst start. ------ Timgolfy with 5 straight blobs in the morning round.

And his total points tally?

Rallied to a 21 am and 24 pm. Put some good holes together and was a thoroughly decent chap.......top man with a great sense of humour.....will be welcomed back at any GM meet.

Echo those sentiments. Top bloke who took his lumps gracefully and huge respect for him even showing up. And it should be noted that 21 and 24 are VERY respectable scores in the conditions today.

Massive thanks to Gary for organising today, could not have enjoyed it more (well, maybe if the golf was better )

Great banter with all my playing partners today, cheers for the company Gents (except pokerjoke, knob

Also, beware if Rickg tries to sell you any clubs, he somehow managed to sell me a duff 2 iron  ;)

Absolutely top day, just wish I could actually putt on those superb greens! :(

Short (243 yards) par 4 9th. Bloody lovely hole!

More tomorrow when I'm not so farking knackered!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone yesterday for making it a thoroughly enjoyable day.

The golf wasn't always great but the company was thanks to Crow, Charlie, RichardC and G1BBO. Thanks guys.

My first attempt at organising something, and I think it went well, although I was a bit "rabbit in the headlights" to start with as people were giving me fivers and I couldn't remember who'd paid.

Highlight of my golf was pitching on the green of the 9th with my 4 wood. GPS said front edge was 238 and my pitchmark was bang in line with the flag about 10' on the green. Just a shame that the elves under the green with ball-magnets made it finish pin high a foot off the green to the left and I 3 putted.

Lowlight was 5 times on the front 9 in the afternoon I hit GIR and 3 putted.

Is that 2 iron for sale yet? :p

Not yet, but if I don't get on with it over the next few weeks do you want 1st refusal? I'm hoping that it was just a result of me swinging like a knob yesterday, but I'll keep it in the bag for the next few weeks and see how I get on.

Yes please, but I might try to get hold of one in the meantime.
I think it will be ideal for 'safe' tee shots as I have a much better chance of hitting an iron straight than a wood, and with roll it should get out to 220-230 hopefully.

It was a great day out with good company - you'll enjoy the banter at Luton Hoo. My only disappointment was the somewhat conservative attire of Murph and RickG. I was expecting something of a fashion statement from both of them given the reputation they appear to have on this forum.

So it's official now,the guy is a peashooting bullshiter.

Just home after playing Robin Hood today and a trip to the range after the driving woes culminated in me and the R9 (RIP) having serious words.

Beau Desert was everything, and then some, that I had hoped and expected. Almost every hole is stunning, individual and presents a different challenge. Straight to the top of my 'must play again' courses.

Great company as always from the forum guys and especially Murph, Jammydodger, Qwerty Andy and Pete who were my playing partners.

Cheers to Gary for organising a HUGE..ly successful day!
