well my clubs have been regripped from midsize to regular lamkin in red to match my bag, jacket and trousers arrived from next for the meal (1st jacket I have bought since my suit 15 years ago lol), new gloves and 24 balls ordered as I will no doubt lose a few

So the admin side is sorted, just the golf game to tweak ready to kick some arse el bandito styleeeeeee

on a serious note I can't wait and looking forward to meeting all the other GM forumers and pop my meet cherry

any evening Rick, I intend to be doing a bit of fine tuning (also known as trying like fook to sort something out)

on a side note, was working down by your club today, too much dosh in Harpenden lol (nice £20 tip tho hehe)

One of my favourite course's,i wish i'd found the forum earlier so i could have joined you all.I still consider shooting level par around there as one of my greatest golfing achievements.
A proper thinking mans golf course, where course management, and shot placement are far more important than smashing the cover off your ball.A course planner will be worth its weight in gold, and if your lucky enough to play with somebody who has played the course before,it'll be very advantageous.
Hope you guys, and girls ? have a great day, although i'm sure you will.

I can't wait, have heard so many good things about the course. Apparently it is the only course in the Midlands with no OOB - they don't need it because if you go off line you are punished enough.

I'll have to play a lot better than today's effort if I'm to break 20 points round there let alone play near my handicap. Still I'm sure the company will be entertaining even if the golf isn't up to standard - although I'm sure even that will be entertaining for some :D

10 days? That's crept up soon!

I saw the pairings post for the first time the other day, don't know why it hadn't come up on the "Active Posts" link, maybe I should look in the main index occasionaly as well.

Looking forward to the day, no OOB, that'll be a first for me!

Good luck to everyone playing, G1BB0, you'll really enjoy it - I played Hanbury Manor in April and was hacking around on handicap of 25 and managed 21 points!

Was a great course and good company aswell. Just go out there and relax and do what you can do.

Well looking forward to it. I've even printed off my own course planner ;)

Oh and i've managed to get back up to 4 today so the extra shot will come in handy no doubt.

Can't wait.

Only thing I need to sort out is the whole jacket/tie/suit combo thing for the evening. What's the usual done thing on this? Just any old smart jacket, shirt and tie over your golf trousers? Or full on dapper suitage?

Never been in the clubhouse past 6pm so wouldn't have a clue.

Oh and I also need to sort out getting rid of my slice

Has anybody checked exactly what the dress code is ? I've played there several times in opens, and have always stayed for the presentation in my golfing gear without a problem.

It's usually just a jacket and tie with a clean pair of trousers , dont want to use your golf trousers after you've just done 36 holes and it might have rained hard and you're soaked through. Best to be on the safe side and bring all clean stuff to wear. You can wear the full suit of course if you dont own just a jacket and tie combo.

Hacker.

We've got the first round together Murph so you can see what a state my game is in first hand. We'd probably score the same points if we swapped h/cs :D

It is for the dinner not the presentation.

It's the norm for most places if your staying for a dinner as part of a society.

If thats the norm, then ignore my comments, but as always there will be some people who'd rather not have to suit and boot for the occasion. As i said earlier,i've played in several opens there, which have included dinner and a presentation, and have never been asked to dress formally. The last time i played there i ate at the same table as Beau's Handicap secretary.HTH's
