The Welch RFU have banned the singing of the Tom Jones hit Delilah. OMG what on earth do the Welch RFU think they are trying to do? They seem to be first to jump on every passing bandwagon. They need to grow a pair and get back to running rugby as their team is currently failing. Also, whilst I'm on, if banning Delilah is the correct thing to do then banning The Angels Boyfriends Back. Basically saying that now said person is back in town he is going to smash the face in of the poor lad who's being chancing his arm. And this is ok eh? (Just heard it on Boom).

There are some songs that fans relate to be it whatever sport. It’s the ones that get the hairs up on the back of your neck. Gets the crowd going. Then there’s ones that are rammel. Sweet Caroline, dear lord. What has that got to do with England. Commercialism at it very worst.
Banning Delilah, what were they thinking. I dont blame the person that came up with the idea. I Blame the second person that was to weak to say “ Are you thick”.At that point it had gathered momentum and now we are left with this.

I don't know, maybe because Wales Rugby Governing body is currently embroiled in accusations of misogyny and sexism and the covering up of sexual abuse claims. Perhaps they don't feel a song about knifing your girlfriend is appropriate??

You can 110% guarantee that you will hear the crowd singing Delilah at matches, even if the official choir doesn’t sing it. Pointless exercise imo

Are they attempting to erase it from history? No.

Banning it might be a logical step following tangible steps to resolve their issues. As a first step it it is pointless and diverts the narrative.

Its a good song.
It is disturbing, just like all those above.
It is not offensive.
If some people find it offensive, then they will have to be offended. None of us has a right to be never offended by anything.
It is necessary to be offended sometimes. It helps you to shape your thoughts and opinions.

It's daft. Delilah is a play within a song, it's an old school style of song writing but it isn't to be taken literally. As with most songs, 99.99% of people don't notice the words, they just fit the melody. It's a great crowd pleaser, a great 'join in' song.

No doubt it will be the most sung song at the ground today. I wonder if we might even hear it at Twickenham?

Nonsense banning songs , half my collection would be banned especially a lot of the old blues songs

Lightnin Hopkins Got To Move your Baby is a good case in point good song but some would want it banned cos it’s basically about a lecherous old man.

Of course it’s daft, “politically correct”, I believe is the term.
Many, many songs would fall foul of this way of thinking.
Although in the case of Delilah, it’s unique in that it is sung publicly by a large vociferous crowd.
The blues song ”Hey Joe”, by Jimi Hendrix (and others), has exactly the same sentiments as Delilah (caught my woman messing around with another man, I shot her down) but isn’t a song that gets crowds singing.
