I'd hope there was justification for it, otherwise you probably come across as a bit of a thug, which is not pleasant on a golf course or anywhere. Can you elaborate on what led up to it? Was it even golf related?? I have a temper but can never see me getting that worked up over a golf related issue.

Here's the text of the 'Spirit of the Game' part of the Etiquette section of the Rules

Golf is played, for the most part, without the supervision of a referee or umpire. The game relies on the integrity of the individual to show consideration for other players and to abide by the Rules. All players should conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship at all times, irrespective of how competitive they may be. This is the spirit of the game of golf.

Similar etiquette is normally on Golf Course property.

I'd be interested to see how the bold bits apply to at least one, and probably either, of the parties in a prospective punch-up!

Some clubs would just chuck you out - hot temper 'v' duty of care to the other members.

I would suggest you preempt what might come your way and write to the Secretary and apologise. It might stick in your throat, and it maybe that you feel that you weren't in the wrong but how much do you value your membership
