after starting golf nearly two weeks ago for over 2 months, i had to make a few minor adjustments with the swing, i changed the ball position too, and found more distance and height, but i just want to check if its right, i find having 5-7 iron bang in middle of stance with ball just left of centre, 3 and 4 left of centre, and 8-wedges just back a bit, is that right?

Personally for a normal shot I wouldn't play anything further back than centre and that would be my wedges and 9 iron. I'd move the clubs fractionally forward through the basg until I'm playing a driver about a ball inside my left foot

I think that there is no right answer to this D,
It all depends where the bottom of your swing arc is with each different club....
If your hitting them ok with the way it is at the moment...Why change.....Everyone is different.

one problem i have is with the 3 and 4 irons there is a little fade that kicks in on the last half of the flight, not sure if it was a wind influence, probably was, but if it wasnt the wind, how could i sort that?

Ball positon is unique for each player, what you have sounds fine... well within the 'guidelines'.

As to the fade on your long irons... why would you want to fix that if it's predictable?

As others have said the ball position should be exactly where the bottom of your swing is (for your irons) This can mean anywhere from front/middle/back it's all down to your swing.
As for your fade on the longer irons I've started to address the problem myself, and found that my swing path with the long irons starts to come in a little at the end hence the fade.
I've started to picked a spot about a foot in front of my ball and to the right of the line, and keep my eye on it as I swing, so my swing path is more in to out to promote the draw.

Actually that is incorrect.

Your ball position should be a couple/few inches BACK from the bottom of your swing. Your club hits the ball then continues down into the ground (divot).

In theory the bottom of your swing should be somewhere close to your left knee/instep/armpit, as it's your left arm that's holding the club. The ball is generally positioned several inches further back than that.
