i think it may have but he's played brilliantly all week.he was +4 thru 6 on the first day and until that happened there he was -2 since so thats pretty impressive.
if it boils down to that i'll be gutted for him,at the very worst it would of been a bogey if the ball dropped down but you never know.
I do think that it all be scuppered his chances starting 4 back when the course is brutal is a big ask but to then suffer a lost ball up a tree is too much to ask. Another close but no cigar!
It probably was but perhaps he didn't get all of it? Only needed about a yard or two more and it would have carried the tree quite superbly. He was taking risks as that is what he needed to do to get a few birdies, unfortunately that's why they're called risks.
There has got to be an element of luck involved when taking risks? When you are within a yard or 2 of being in position A but lose your ball you must think its not to be! And do it wasn't.
