Finally decided to take the game back up after a year out.

I went to play rugby about a year ago and golf got pushed to back of my things to do as i was 100% rugby, getting fit playing games ect. There isnt much longer left of the season so i have decided to take the game back up.

I was playing off a 15hc but i have been out prob 4 times in past week and im far from that standard which is annoying!!

I know its going to take a bit of time, but i say Roll on the SUMMER!!!

I had a year out about 7 years ago as I lost the love for the game, I was taking it too seriously and letting bad shots get to me way too much. I ended up being invited for a knock with one of my friends one day & thought why not....needless to say I got the bug back and haven't looked back since.

It wont take you long to get back to your previous standard, my handicap actually came down when I started the game up again.

Yea i was in same boat as you, lost the love for the game.

I joined a club for the first time started playing comps, got myself worked up with bad shots, not hitting my handicap. Found myself getting angry with it so left it. But i have a different approach now, play the game as a social thing with my dad and mates.

Maybe one day i will join back up to a club and play in comps but for now im happy to just go for a knock

The funny thing is I didn't even miss it until I had that one game which I really enjoyed and then I felt like I had to get out and play as often as I could.

Out of interest what parts of the game are missing from last year or is it a little of everything?

I'm in the middle of an enforced break & still won't hit a ball for at least two more months ............ absolutely chomping at the bit.
I just can't wait.

Slime.
