Back after a bit of trouble

Hi all, just a quick intro...again. I registered a couple of months ago under the name DMM however for some reason i had some trouble logging in and therefore have been restricted to viewing only. Anyway just a quick recap as a way of a re-introduction.

Started playing again after a 14 year break from the game and at 30 i decided to take up the game again. Been playing just over 2 months now. Joined my first ever club and received my first HC which started at 22. Played my first comp after advice from fellow forum members and won finishing on a gross 85 nett 63 and promptly got cut as expected, but i was over the moon. Now playing of 19.7 but i still feel that i am a few shots better than my handicap suggests but i just can`t seem to manage to hit form in comps since my win. My best since has been a 9th place.

Anyway thoroughly enjoying getting back into the game and i have quickly made some friends through playing at the club and having a whale of a time.

I too started playing full time back in june got a handicap of 21 and have played 2 comps so far....Had 34 points in the first and just yesterday finished with 38 points .....
Like you i feel im slightly better than my handicap suggests and i get a little embarrassed when people that play with me ask what im off only to tell me that my handicap wont last long at 21 ....Time will tell i suppose....

Hi Kid2, yeah i know what you mean i jokingly get called shark / bandit etc.. and i have to agree with them. I know i should be playing off around 16 / 17 but with limited time to get the HC down this season then i will accept it and concentrate on next season. Played Sunday morning against a 12 HC player in matchplay and after telling him my HC i promptly sunk a 20 ft putt for a birdie on the first. I didn`t need to be a lip reader to work out what was said under his breath.

Haha i know exactly what you mean.....I got some of that yesterday too.... But i cant wait for mine to start dropping..... Anyone i play with reckons i should be down around the mid teens too....I think i need to start playing comps more regularly
