Sorry for the caps but it's short notice and I know nobody checks this forum that quickly.

I'm in Scotland from Thursday until Monday - South Ayrshire to be precise. Trying to get the wife to sanction my escape to a golf course on Friday, morning probably, as that's the only day when the weather possibly isn't horrendous. If anyone is in the area and fancies a round, let me know - I can't travel far as we've only got the one car so missus will have to drop me off - cheap course that is quick to get round would be ideal.

The troon municipal courses are a good shout no mats, full greens and always in good condition, after the amount of rain we've had they would be my first and only choice for Friday, unfortunately I won't be able to make it another time hopefully,
Enjoy mate

Hi - I was thinking maybe Seafield at Belleisle Park, which I've played before, but you're suggesting maybe the Troon Links Darley course might be better? Played the Fullarton before, but it's very short that one. Could do that again if I don't have much time.

The other 2 are very good I like the darley personally but all three are good value, I'd say sea field and belleisle would still be too wet plugging balls and plenty of mud awaits 😂 you'll want to try get a booking asap as they are quite busy this time of year

Cheers, yeah I may look to try the Darley course then as I've not done that one before. Weirdly the booking page I used previously (South Ayshire Golf) is not working during the evenings but works during the day, ha. I already saw there are times between 11 and 12 though so I'll try and nab one of those.

Edit: Oh, no, according to GolfNow all those are gone. Reckon I could tee off at 1:30pm and make it round before dark?? :ROFLMAO:

Edit2: Managed to get a GolfNow 'Hot Deal' at Seafield for 14 quid, so that'll do.

Thats weird I always use golf now and then call them to see if they do the same price and book that way, the troon courses are normally busy I know a few who drive from Glasgow for their winter golf and always moan about tee times, seafield at £14 is a bargain and hopefully not to wet underfoot, as long as you out swinging it's never a wasted day hope you enjoy mate

There were a few puddles down on the 12th fairway, and the tee boxes were patchy but otherwise nice and playable. Greens still a decent speed. And the sun was shining all the way round. 👍🏻

Brilliant they do a really good job keeping them in good condition glad it was playable and stayed dry for you as i think this weekend is a washout

Not sure if they still do but years ago had great events for juniors across the darley lochgreen and fullarton in the summer. Always great nick and brilliant value for the youngsters, like a fiver entry fee etc

Bernard Langer sponsored it for a while if I remember right
