has the meaning of this word been watered down?

The dictionary defines it has: causing or inducing awe; inspiring an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, or fear

This week on the forum it has been used to describe golf in a baseball stadium and also the writing of yardages on the hosel of a golf club.

I am not having a go at anyone I am just wondering.

Awesome post Louise:D

Where I work has a larger USA based operation, some of our friends across the pond seem pretty keen on it.

It's gotten awesome!

I use the the word when something really is awesome.
Eg..
When Jason Day or Rory have had an awesome round.
Neymar's goal last week.
Jessica Alba.

Like any number of words, it has been watered down and over used. Awesome subject though

It's more evolution, language is evolving quite quickly, but the then again it has always evolved relatively quickly to its users.

It is strange that something so core to our lives changes so quickly!
