Everyone enjoying this one? I like the format - certainly adds a different spice to the action. Johnson had a good opening round, he's just playing so solidly at the moment and I can't see him letting up.

There's a nice little column here which looks at five players before each round - https://www.thestatszone.com/golf-p...-round-two-johnson-mcilroy-prediction-preview - useful for outsider picks too.

Pity Tiger isn't playing in this one - I rather enjoyed seeing him play half decent golf at the Farmers!

i actually dislike it a lot.

3 different courses so you only get bitty coverage and don't really know where everyone is until Sat night.
Those leading don't get to play together until Sunday, further reducing the drama and coherence for the viewer.

I have no doubt that those playing the event have a wonderful time; but as a viewing spectacle it's rubbish - just like the Dunhill.

Yes it was a right Howler not sure that even 54 handicap golfer would sword fight the hole as bad as that. To make it worse his poor old Dad was there to watch it

Rory's having a shocker. He's turning into Rickie Fowler.....got the tools but mentally cannot string it together over four full rounds.

DJ is looking imperious though....

Interesting predictions there though @sportlad.....Casey looked decent again yesterday and could be T10

One of the worst tournaments of the year on the PGA tour. The coverage has not been good, too much Ben Crane etc

European Tour did much better coverage for the Dunhill which is the same format over 3 courses.

Would love Casey to go on and win, playing great golf.

Fair play to Ted Potter Jnr.

Wouldn't fancy holding onto a lead whilst stuck behind Jayday playing musical statues.

A good result for golf

Was good to see him hold it together for the 17 holes after the 3 putt on the 1st.

Nice to see a guy with a workman like swing winning.

Shame DJ didn't put more pressure on him - he played pretty awfully. Must have fatted at least 3 wedges from inside 120, he normally eats those sort of shots up and at least has decent looks at birdie. Instead he ended up having to scramble for pars, was weird.

Bill Murray...total weirdo, wish they would stop showing him every year.

That Clint Eastwood interview, not sure what CBS (?) are thinking getting him up there every year.

Really is a piss take the US coverage, massive gaps during weekend play because it changes channel from golf channel to the main host...will they ever sort it out.

Clint Eastwood is a LEGEND why shouldn't he be up there as you say he has been for years

Kevin Streelman and Larry Fitzgerald won the pro-am by a mile. Had led to people questioning Fitzgerald's handicap. Someone found his HI record and it makes for pretty interesting reading:

Low handicap of 6.6 - has risen 4 shots in 5 months. US handicap system is so weird.
