AT&T It’s the PGA Tour… but not as we know it

The AT&T this weekend at a place called Trinity Forest. Just read an article on it and it seems to be quite a contrast to the usual target/stadium PGA tour golf venues we get a lot of

Features scrub/grass wasteland, distinct lack of trees, undulating ‘linksy’ fairways, greens designed to ‘repel’ golf balls & even a shared green

Looks interesting, will you be watching, who do you think will cope best with those conditions

Read this morning that apparently the PGA Tour have been dousing the course in water to soften it up because the players have been complaining about the conditions.

Really like the look of the course, good to see a different kind of golf being played on the PGA tour.

The course has clearly intimidated plenty of big names who have given Trinity Forest a miss. I think the real worry for the organisers are that temperatures will hit 33 degrees Celsius across all 4 days of the event. The other thing is the course does drain well as Zoysiagrass. Greens will always be receptive though at 10.5 on the stimp - very contoured and ridged.

Well, the PGA Tour is run by the players for the players, so whatever they want goes.

i would still maintain, that hard conditions (firm fairways and greens )would make any length of course over 6000 a challenge with the right shaping of course and bunkering.

The top guys love long and soft/ receptive greens and the powers that be keep dishing that up.
