Just off to Ashbury Manor near Okehampton for a golf weekend with the lads ans guess what? its bloomin raining again so it could be a few days of watching footy and drinking beer with a few trips to the driving range Grrrrr!! ;0(

Managed to get 3 rounds in, Halved the match on Friday, won 3 & 2 on Saturday and lost by a birdie on the 18th today to a pair of 16 year olds. Didnt get too wet either so good weekend all round. ;0)

It is a pretty good venue for a long weekend with your mates although I don't think the courses are overly challenging. I was there for a week a few years back and they only had the one full eighteen at the time and it did become a bit monotonous. I wasn't really a fan of the loops of nine and didn't think they were very fair. That said I stayed in the accommodation on the golf course which was fine and there was enough to do in the evenings (bowling - both indoor and ten pin) snooker, darts, a decent bar.

They do look after the courses well and I seem to remember them drying pretty well even after heavy showers. Its definitely a venue I'd use again for a boys weekend
