Are you a fair weather golfer?

I'll play right through but .... after heavy rain anything other than the fairway can be a quagmire and it can be disheartening.
But - we'll do it.
The pain is teeing off at 8am but not knowing if the course is open by dialling at 7.30am.
Several times I've been fully togged up in skins and waterproofs only to have to rip 'em off and jump back in with the missus

I play all year round.

When our qualifiers stop in October, I begin work on my swing making changes to benefit next season.

Why do your qualifiers stop?

Unless you are playing temporary greens, it's quite feasible to play qualifiers all year round.

I'll play in any cold weather but not the rain as yet, I only took up golf a year ago so all my cash has gone on clubs and lessons etc so far

Planning on investing in some decent ish wet weather gear but I won't play in torrential rain it's just no fun

all year twice a week if I can! :) I actually play better with 7 layers, 5 hats and 2 pairs of gloves on for some reason .....:confused:If you live and play in this country al lot I dont think you'd call yourself a fair weather only player.... Normally :)

I always hope to play all year round but injuries and work schedules have meant that I've managed only 20-25 rounds a year for the last 3 years. Not looking good for this winter either. :(

I like winter golf and will play as much through winter as summer if the course is open. Played 2 rounds today and partner no. 1 decided the rain was too much so a nice round on my own - partner no. 2 (HID) wasn't so nesh and another enjoyable 13 holes before heading to the osteopath (by which time she had some work to do). Lovely and quiet on the course except the busy bee greenkeepers putting down some sort of fertiliser or something on the fairways. Course nice and soft and greens back to playing target golf at the pin - perfect!

Medium to heavy rain and I cry off but I actually prefer playing in winter as the place is quite. My qualifiers stop in October also because they close the blue and white tees, obviously comps can still be played for the yellows but par 72 sss 69 is naff for everyone especially when the CSS goes down to 68.

I quite enjoy playing in the rain, as long as the water proofs are doing their job I am happy to stay out.
This year I played St Pierre in the rain with a friend and hit one of my best scores to date. They also chucked in a free buggy so we didnt get too wet going round which was really good of them.

I'm going to continue playing the winter for sure, but wouldn't leave the house if it were bucketing down and had been for days.

Am a speccy four eyes so will either buy some contacts or a cap (which I really don't like wearing) to stop the rain blinding my vision. Then Just some good waterproofs and warmer clothing and I'm raring to go.

I played last winter, not least because I hardly played through the summer due to all the rain. So long as it's not driving sleet, then I'm pretty much ok, although I did play at Craigielaw in March when it was blowing a gale and snowing. 2nd is a par 5, playing into the wind, I hit Driver, 3 wood and then maybe the best 3 wood I've ever hit, from 150 yards :o right into the middle of the green. It's a different game but no less enjoyable :)

Played in rain, sleet and snow last year infact all on the same day if i remember rightly. May only play 9 if its too bad but just wrap up and play

I am planning on taking a month off over December, take a break from it all and start my winter gym work. Come 2nd week of January the lessons are starting and lots of range work to get myself ready for the next year.

I will play in everything but snow and frozen fairways, as long as i am dressed for th weather then im fine!

All year play for me, actually enjoy the rain sometimes, not quite the same issues though, no point in waterproofs, you just melt like you're in a sauna for 4 hours

So just wear what we'd wear in sunshine and dry out in between the downpours

Been pulled by the short and curlies by the wife who has said with lead time on furniture we have to put our orders in for the stuff to arrive in the new house before Christmas. As a result I've been dragged all around town looking at stuff today and more o the same tomorrow so pulled from the medal under duress. Having seen the forecast it is probably a good miss. Looking grim and wouldn't even hit a range in those winds (it must be bad if I skip a range)

Golf in all weathers as long as the course is open. Forecast is vile tomorrow but we will be there unless the course is closed. Already been warned that my afternoon group lesson will be cancelled if the weathers as bad as they say due to the other women refusing to come out in it!
