Are Titleist finally becoming like other manufacturers?

Titleist seem to have dropped a bomb that the TS4 (Ultra Low Spin Option) is to be released on Tour this week and released to public late June.

Thats not even close to a year since they released the TS2/TS3, very out of character to their structured release dates.

Or as it's part of the TS family does it not count and it ties into last years release as a late addition?


Annoying as I'll have to try it out in my everending search for lower spin.

1) It may be an April fool
2) They have released a D4 model before so it may well be for ultra low spin only and going by the picture the weight is right at the front so would be a low spinner.

April fool was my first thought, but it seems not to be the case.

Similar to the 915 D4, Which funnily enough I could spin just as much as the D3 anyway.

It's obviously to sit alongside the other two drivers, not replace them, so I don't really see the issue. It offers something different so why not? It's not like Taylor Made replacing their drivers with some nonsense gimmick every 8 months.

In answer to your question, no I don't believe they are, they have far too much class to become like the others.

Convince Myself I still need it as there was minuscule amount of lower spin

Sell the TS3
Convince the Mrs it wasn't a waste of money
Hit it no better thereafter.

i see it the same as you, I just wish I had some prior knowledge of it's existence or likely release as i would have held off to try it prior to buying a TS3. I guess it's likely driven by feedback from tour so may not have even been considered during TS2/3 release.
