Appleby GC

Used to play the spring open weekend. It's wide open and, like a seaside links, it needs it to blow a bit. Greens used to be amazing. Brilliant par 3 in a bend in the river. Very welcoming, great food... or at least it was years ago.

44pts in a Stableford off 4 got a whole heap of whinging.

I really need to give this place a go Bri, It looks real moorland test and pretty unique.
I've just read about 30 reviews and everyone was praising the course and club in general.
What's really caught my eye is the country membership at £200 plus you can play comps. Penrith looks pretty good too, another one I haven't played.

I imagine you've got fond memories of the place after coming in with 44pts :D

Has anyone played it? If so what did you think?
It's really nice ,wide open , sheep and horses roam on the course so they have electric fences around the greens.
There was also a firing range next to it for the Royal Navy I think.
Been a couple of years since I played there but it was a really nice course.
In the middle of nowhere so try come home before dark as dark there really is dark.
